Natalie Perez Hayden

Born in Belize in 1975 to an influential family with a political background, Natalie still considers herself a village girl. In 1999 she moved to the United States and first pursued the practice of yoga in Sebastopol, California in 2004. She first focused on the physical benefits but soon uncovered access to profound healing, awareness, and spirituality. Natalie completed a 200 hour RYT training in California, the Comprehensive Equipment based Teacher Training with Balanced Body Pilates, and she continues educational studies in functional anatomy, Ayurvedic wellness, Mayan therapies and nature’s healing modalities. Her authentic style is not only influenced by her many yoga teachers but also by her studies in Mayan shamanism, philosophy, medicine, traditions, prayers and meditations, ceremonies and healing. She is currently learning to be a Bush Medicine Specialist and diving back into her deep indigenous past in the Maya healing traditions.

Natalie and her husband Matt moved to Northern California from the U.S. Midwest. As young entrepreneurs, they built one of the first hydroponic retail brands beginning in 2002. Natalie handled accounting and HR for the young couple as Matt designed new hydroponic products and hybrid techniques. Natalie was an executive officer as the company grew to 3.5 million dollars. Matt and Natalie integrated two more businesses into distributing and manufacturing, producing a OMRI certified plant nutrient until 2010. In 2011 they began to sell or restructure of all 3 of the California businesses and in 2012 began to pursue yoga, farming and development endeavors in Indiana and Belize. In 2013 they opened Body Mind & Core, a 4000 square foot state-of-the-art Yoga + Pilates lifestyle studio in Carmel, Indiana. Natalie has been leading retreats in Belize and California for the last 5 years and continues to explore and develop therapeutic offerings throughout her travels and work. She has been a part of marketing different products and services across many different brands and pools together over 20 years of yoga and entrepreneurial experience. Always blending their passions in life for an abundant and sustainable lifestyle, Natalie and Matt are currently developing Kaan Ku, a lifestyle resort in Belize.
